We thank Dave Ashton for his article, published in an Indian newspaper, especially for his commitment to get the truth out about the potentially harmful nature of artificial pulsed radiofrequency radiation emitted by cell phones, cell towers, Wi-Fi, smart meters, most cordless phones...

Radio frequency radiation from mobile towers
by Dave Ashton, theshillongtimes.com, 16 July 2015

I saw this report, “EMF radiation fears affects BSNL service in NE” (ST July 14, 2015) and would like to make a few observations about the content. I’m from the UK, and am not a radiation expert, but I am someone who suffers from a devastating condition known as electro-hypersensitivity – along with an unknown percentage of the general population (estimates vary wildly, but a figure of 3-5% is often given). I cannot comment on internal Indian affairs, and I do not know the personalities or the organisations described in this article.

However, as regards the generally harmful nature of artificial pulsed radiofrequency/microwave radiation, such as that emitted by cellphones, cell towers, wi-fi, “smart” meters, most cordless phones, “smart” meters, bluetooth devices etc., I’d like to outline some of the serious attention that is being given to this issue around the world, and the calls for meaningful precautionary measures to be adopted.

In 2011, the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified radio-frequency radiation (which includes the microwave part of the spectrum) as a Group 2B Possible Carcinogen. A number of the scientists involved in this process have subsequently called for the classification to be tightened still further, to Probable Carcinogen, or even Known Carcinogen. Please see IARC Monograph 102.
