Mother of disabled 7-year-old worries about health effects for her son
A Broomfield mother, backed vocally by neighbors, is not giving up on nixing the Verizon cell tower slated for construction on Calvary Church property.
Since the tower was approved by City Council in a 5-4 vote on Dec. 15, she and neighbors have reached out to council voicing concern over the 52-foot tower — one that will resemble a "bell tower" with a cross on top.
At Tuesday night's council meeting, the first of the year and since the vote, those neighbors could show up en masse to make a final appeal to reverse the approval.
Meanwhile, three council members who voted in favor of it say they have no plans to change their stance and two said council is limited by law in what it can consider when making decisions regarding cell towers.
