The following letter concerning media courses for parents and teachers was sent by ARA (Association romande alerte aux ondes électromagnétiques - www.alerte.ch) to the CEO of Swisscom, Mr. Urs Schaeppi, on 25 November 2013. We have learned that Swisscom is organizing media courses for parents and teachers on the dangers of the Internet, especially those on social networks.
According to the description of the course content, emphasis is being placed on such dangers as cyberbullying and other infringements of privacy, which is laudable. Parents and teachers, however, should be warned about other dangers related to abusive use of wireless devices, such as cell phones and tablets for children.
